Neurocritical Care 2010: Walk of Life

October 7 - 9, 2010 Neurocritical care has evolved over the past twenty years in parallel with the growth of critical care medicine and the stunning developments in the fields of neurology and neurosurgery. Advances in imaging and a better understanding of pathophysiology of neuronal injury have revolutionized the management of an acute stroke patient in the last decade. Today the Neurological Intensive Care Unit is the epicenter for acute stroke intervention and the care of complex, critically ill patients with neurological disease. Neurocritical Care 2010: Walk of Life is much expanded this year and includes four events. First, we will host our 8th Annual Cleveland Neurocritical Care & Stroke conference. For this two-day course, we have gathered a distinguished group of world leaders to review advances in the diagnosis and management of acute stroke. A special and timely session will take place on the second day focusing on health care reform and the ICU. As in the past, this conference will have an innovative, informal, Rock and Roll-themed format so as to create an experience that is both educational and enjoyable. Second, we will host our 3rd Annual CWRU Critical Care Bioinformatics Workshop designed to focus on advances in Health Information Technology and informatics. Third, we will host our 2nd Annual CWRU TCD Ultrasound Workshop designed to provide a complete review of ultrasound principles, techniques, and interpretation. And finally, this year, we are hosting our 1st Annual Cleveland Music and Medicine Symposium designed to explore the fascinating intersection of music and the brain and music and health.
